On June 16, 2011, chefs from the best Farm-to-Table restaurants in the Berkshires will prepare a special Shaker dinner at Hancock Shaker Village. The meal will feature Shaker dishes and highlight local ingredients. It promises to be a singular event.

The Shaker Farm-to-Table Dinner could be a delightful addition to a summer getaway at our Inn Berkshires. Spend the morning delving into the history of the Shakers at Hancock Shaker Village. Return to the inn for an afternoon by the pool, then enjoy a glass of wine in the parlor before heading back to Hancock for dinner.

Chefs from the following restaurants will have a hand in preparing this wonderful Shaker meal:

Hancock Shaker Village is located in Pittsfield, approximately 20 minutes from our luxury Berkshires lodging in Lee. The Shaker Farm-to-Table Dinner takes place from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16. Reservations are required.

Fine Dining in the Berkshires

When next you stay at our luxury bed and breakfast Berkshires, consider dining at one of our favorite restaurants. The Old Inn on The Green is less than 30 minutes from here, in New Marlborough. The ambiance is wonderful, especially during the winter months, when fireplaces crackle in every room. The menu changes frequently, but each bite is always worth savoring. Some nights the restaurant offers only a Prix Fixe Menu, which is fun.

The Old Inn on The Green features such unique plates as Roasted Hudson Valley Squab Salad and Crispy Veal Sweetbreads. It’s a great place to stop for a romantic dinner after exploring the area; there are several lovely waterfalls near New Marlborough, such as Campbell’s Falls, Ashley Falls, and Umpachene Falls. A short hike does wonders to stimulate the appetite.

The concierge service we offer at our Berkshires lodging is something unique to Applegate Inn. We know and love many of the great restaurants in the area, and enjoy helping our guests find the perfect dining experience. If you like Mediterranean food, we might send you to the charming Cafe Lucia where you will enjoy your food in an 1840s farmhouse. If you are hankering for a croque monsieur, the penultimate French sandwich, we’ll probably send you to Chez Nous in Lee. No matter what your preferences, it is our goal to ensure that you leave our Stockbridge MA hotel well fed. And of course, we hope you like the blueberry buckle and Baked Stuffed French Toast at the Applegate bed and breakfast.
