People travel from all over the country to attend the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. Each year, we hear about superlative performances seen by guests of our Bed and Breakfast Berkshires.

Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival 2011 includes:

In addition, Big Dance Theater will present the world premiere of Supernatural Wife; Louise Lecavalier will dance to Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, Miles Davis and Iggy Pop; and KEIGWIN + COMPANY deconstructs the fashion world in Runaway.

Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival 2011 features an extraordinary line-up of choreographers, dancers, and music. Wednesdays through Saturdays there are free performances by students at The School of Jacob’s Pillow, established dance companies, and emerging artists, as well as sneak previews by festival artists. The National Acrobats of China, the most acclaimed large acrobatic troupe in the world, has thirty-five performers. The troupe has a world-wide reputation, and their antics and physical tests captivate audiences around the globe. The performance will also include stunning displays of Chinese martial arts, illusion and acrobatics. Their feats of physical daring and grace are enhanced by elaborate costumes and traditional music. From plate-spinning and cycling stunts to juggling with their feet, The National Acrobats of China are master contortionists, tumblers and jugglers. This is going to really be a treat!

When we opened our Stockbridge Bed and Breakfast, we knew we wanted to relocate here in the Berkshires, an area that attracts such interesting and diverse cultural events. Sculpture by Daniel Chester French

Chesterwood is the country home, studio and gardens of Daniel Chester French, the sculptor of the statue of Abraham Lincoln in the Memorial in Washington, DC, and The Minute Man, Concord, MA. The buildings are furnished with decorative arts and paintings collected by the sculptor. Woodland walks featuring mountain vistas and perennial gardens of French’s own design. The Studio is a fascinating space. It contains a standard-gauge railroad track used to roll large sculpture outdoors for viewing in natural light. The museum holds what is probably the largest single collection of work by any American sculptor.
